95 points, Wine Advocate: Sourced from the ungrafted "1896" parcel, the auctioned 2015 Maximin Herrenberg Riesling Beerenauslese is super clear and aromatic on the nose where perfectly ripe peach and peach confiture aromas intermix with honey, pignon and white nougat as well as delicately spicy notes. Lush and terribly sweet on the palate, with piquant acidity and crystalline structure, this is a beautiful BA with great elegance and precise fruit flavors. It is concentrated but, at the moment, all too sweet for my personal taste. Doubtlessly, this wine can age for many decades.
