The Côtes du Rhône ‘Mon Coeur’ is a blend of four distinct terroir located in and around Chateauneuf-du-Pape. Though the blend varies year to year, it is roughly 50% Syrah and 50% Grenache. Vine age is between 20-60 years. Both juicy and meaty. Light floral notes, raspberry, cherry, dark berries, and licorice. Cracked pepper and spice with medium body and lingering tannins make this a bit more serious than many other CdR on the market.
90 Points, Wine Spectator: Dark and brooding, with a dense core of black fruit and melted black licorice set against a savory wave of salty minerality and tapenade. Singed apple wood imparts an appealing smokiness, with spicy and meaty notes playing out on the medium-length finish.
