Paolo Bea “Rosso de Veo” Montefalco Rosso Riserva 2018 750ml

This inky yet juicy bottle is produced from 45 to 50-day macerated Sagrantino at the hands of one of Umbria's greatest winemakers. Fruit for 'Rosso de Veo' is aged for three years (two in steel/one in oak) prior to release, which allows the wine to harmoniously integrate. Dry, gritty, and noted with red fruit flavors, this bottle is perfect for serving with classically robust Italian recipes. This is essentially the estate's declassified Sagrantino di Montefalco. All the fruit comes from Montefalco vineyards, mostly Cerrete which is their highest elevation vineyard, but is generally the younger vines. Aged for a year in steel tanks, 2 years in large oak barrels and then another year in bottle before release.
