Redwood Valley, Mendocino. Certified Organic. 70% Carignan & 30% Sauvignon Blanc. All the fruit was de-stemmed and fermented together, naturally in small open-top fermenters. Aged for 7 months in neutral French oak. Light bright and crunchy, clocking in at only 11% alcohol. Like all of his wines, this is a joyful and lively affair. But behind all that fun is a seriously well made wine. Layers of bright and nervy fruit. Nectarine, rainier cherry and mysterious melange of forest berries like lingon and huckleberry. Crisp acidity wraps around a textural core of piquant tannins. Unlike most natural quaffers, this develops and unspools over time. It is equally delicious the next day on the off chance one makes it through the night.
