Molino del Ciego hails from a one-hectare block of 90-year-old Semillon vines planted on Itata’s granitic soils, surrounded by the local herbs and plants of the Itata valley. Made identically to the Fundo La Union, with full skin contact. But in the same vein, this just shows skins influence and gentle tannins rather than an outright orange character. It's spicy and herbal, with prominent notes of cooked pear and apple. A spicy, almost jalapeño-like note comes through as well. The fruit character and herbal spice continues on the palate, with more prominent minerality. A fascinating bottle of Semillon.
