"Palhete" is a style of wine Joe fell in love with while working in Portugal, a red wine that's actually mostly made from white grapes. Here, the blend is 90% Verdelho and 10% Graciano from Sonrisa Vineyard in Yakima Valley. The nose is bright and tropical, with mango, papaya, orange peel, and just a hint of tart red berries. On the palate, peachy tropical notes continue, but with a fantastic dusting of tannin. This might sound like a silly natty blend, but the texture is perfect and kept drawing me back for more.
