"Kertz is a tiny vineyard, on the same stretch of slope as the famous Hermannshöhle and Klamm ((Donnhoff), all three belonging to the village of Niederhäusen. Now the site has been absorbed into the larger Klamm, but previously this site was bottled by itself by several growers and is in the same rating as Schlossböckelheimer Felsenberg and Hermannshöle on the 1901 Nahe Tax map. The soils here are mostly volcanic and this Feinherb style, so just a bit of RS, just enough to give the wine perfect balance and lift."
