Due to the calareous soils, the aging of this and most Grande Champagne Cognas is extremely slow. In fact, at 20yrs, Dudugnon Vieille Reserve is just beginning to enter the secondary flavors of it life. Primary notes of green apple, pear and vanilla give way to ripe yellow pear, apricot and white peach. The fragrance is delicate, the mouth feel fine and the finish long. For the money this is one of the finest cognacs on the market.
